DESCRIPTION:
WW - Rodania Monopusher Chronograph for the Royal Canadian Air Force, manual wind, 37mm x 45mm to lug tips, 18mm wire lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with RCAF markings and singular round pump pusher, brown leather strap, refinished white dial with black painted numerals and luminous plots, two inset subregisters for minute recording and subsidiary seconds, 17J cal 175, s#1682, triple signed. Dial may be a RCAF refinish as the luminous plots have a clear lacquer added to prevent luminous material from degrading; it would be highly unusual if not done by the RCAF, however there is no way to verify for certain.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, monopusher chronograph functions and resets properly, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, hardly any oxide to steelwork, very light fine scratches to plates; excellent-plus refinished dial, luminous material has been relumed at some point in its life with a clear lacquer being placed over to stabilize the material; excellent blued steel syringe hands; lightly polished case shows light wear, still retains some of the original factory finishing, retains a mark on case back from being worn on a one piece strap for many years, ding on case back from improper use of a case wrench; replacement crown shows very little wear; good plastic crystal.
